I don't quaulify, but I can say Los muertos no hablan, the dead don't speak, and seem to to at least read and write more French than I thought I knew. How you'ld go about learning it or teaching it is beyond me. Europeans trouble me because of some of their language skills, especially in my own native tongue, Sweden Polish, Austrian and Estonians that seen to have a superior ability to write and read English.

Its amazing to me how many others can speak and write our language and we can do neither with most of theirs. I'd like to learn more, and my husband deals with Spanish speaking countries in his job, and knows very little Spanish[he is frequently in contact with Puerto Rico and Mexico and can't speak the language.I'd like to be able to help him

I am not a native speaker, but am living in the dominican republic and speak spanish every day. My advice would be, really take a class and spend some time in a place were they only speak spanish, this is the best way to learn.

It is? That's wonderful. In his job, my husband works with and communicates frequently with people in Mexico and Puerto Rico. He can't speak Spanish, and many of them don't speak english. It makes it difficult to communicate with them over the phone. I told him I would try to find someone who speaks spanish as a native language, and see if we could learn enough words to help him in understanding them, and help them understand him. He is in shipping and receiving and times dates amounts and carriers are crucial, along with purchase order numbers and stock names. It would be great if you could help us with some common courtesy language[good morning, how are you etc, ]and some terms that he might need to use. He would like to learn conversational spanish, but I realize that is a lot to do, but any you can help us with would help.
